The conference sessions will take place in Campus Rancagua of Universidad de O’Higgins located at Avenida Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins 611, Rancagua (highlighted in yellow in the map below).

For accommodation we recommend to make a reservation in the hotel Diego de Almagro in Rancagua at https://www.dahoteles.com/es/da-rancagua (highlighted in green in the map below). This hotel is 10 minutes by walk from the Rancagua campus. If you prefer to consider a different accommodation, we just recommend to prefer the green area.

To reach the city of Rancagua from abroad we recommend the following:

1. Arrive at the Arturo Merino Benitez international airport in Santiago (SCL)

2. Take a Turbus bus starting from the airport (International terminal (T2): First level, gate 4) to reach the Terminal Turbus in Santiago, also known as Terminal Alameda.

3. From the Turbus terminal in Santiago take a bus to the Terminal O’Higgins in Rancagua (highlighted in cyan in the map above), which is close to the hotel Diego de Almagro Rancagua.

Alert: In past events in Chile there have been some scams by taxi drivers taken them at the airport. If you want to take a taxi or transfer from the airport please make sure to avoid the offerings of people approaching you or just standing by and prefer those with established stands.

A territory with identity, productivity, and potential

The O’Higgins Region, with its capital in Rancagua, is located in central Chile, embracing a wide geographic and cultural diversity: from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, passing through fertile valleys, rural areas, and expanding cities.

Tangible and intangible heritage is preserved and revitalized in towns such as Pichidegua, Santa Cruz, Marchigüe, and Chimbarongo, where rural roots, traditional crafts, and new artistic expressions converge.

The coastal area of the O’Higgins Region offers a wide range of tourist experiences, combining beaches, seafood cuisine, water sports, and local traditions.

It is one of the country’s main agricultural regions, notable for its leadership in the production and export of fresh fruits, vegetables, and wines. The area is also part of the renowned Cachapoal Valley Wine Route, which combines winemaking tradition, food and wine tourism, and sustainable rural development.

The region is home to the world’s largest underground mine: Codelco’s El Teniente Division. In the heart of the Andes Mountains lies Sewell, the former mining camp built by the Braden Copper Company at the beginning of the 20th century, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2006.

O’Higgins is advancing as an emerging hub for scientific and technological development and the O’Higgins University (UOH) has appeared strengthening regional capacities in areas such as renewable energy, healthcare, artificial intelligence, agribusiness, and sustainability.
