We are pleased to announce that the 4th International Workshop on “Variational Analysis and Applications for Modeling of Energy Exchange” (VAME 2026) will be hosted in Región de O’Higgins, Chile, from March 9th to 13th, 2026.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together specialists in the modeling of energy exchanges, from the areas of Mathematics and Economics. In addition, the workshop strives to stimulate the exchange of ideas among researchers and practitioners that develop or apply energy market models and approaches for policy identification and assessment. In an “informal context”, the intent is to generate fruitful scientific exchanges on the following topics:

  1. Nonlinear optimization;

  2. Stochastic programming and robust optimization;

  3. Bilevel programming, MPEC, EPEC;

  4. Generalized Nash equilibrium problems (GNEPs);

  5. Capacity expansion models in renewable dominated power systems;

  6. Decarbonization and integration of renewable energy sources in power systems;

  7. Impact of the development of electric vehicles;

  8. Electricity market design;

  9. Risk management in electricity markets.

In this occasion, it will be dedicated to the celebration of the 60th birthday of our dear friend professor Didier Aussel, who organized the first version of the VAME and has made significant contributions during his career to the topics of the workshop.

Professor Didier Aussel. Université de Perpignan.

In order to favour the participation of students in the VAME 2026 we offer a limited number of grants which may be applied for following these rules of the contest.
