Mauricio Latorre es Ingeniero en Biotecnología Molecular y Doctor en Ciencias de la Universidad de Chile. Su desarrollo profesional se vincula en áreas de Biología de Sistemas y Biotecnología, enfocados principalmente en la construcción y utilización de modelos bacterianos capaces de describir resistencia a metales pesados, patogénesis y procesos de biominería. Actualmente se desarrolla como profesor asistente del Instituto de Ciencias de la Ingeniería de la UOH, investigador asociado de los centros nacionales FONDAP-Center for Genome Regulation, BASAL-Center for Mathematical Modeling y colaborador internacional del departamento de “Infection Diseases” de la Universidad de Texas (E.E.U.U.) y del grupo CNRS-Dyliss de la Université de Rennes (Francia).
