Durante su formaci\u00f3n doctoral, el Dr. Rubilar vincul\u00f3 la formaci\u00f3n de ra\u00edces laterales con componentes moleculares de naturaleza lip\u00eddica y su rol en tr\u00e1fico de endomembranas en el modelo vegetal Arabidopsis thaliana. Con experiencia en el \u00e1rea de la fitopatolog\u00eda en especial en la prospecci\u00f3n y detecci\u00f3n molecular de fitopat\u00f3genos en especies de importancia agron\u00f3mica en Chile; actualmente, la l\u00ednea de su trabajo se enfoca en el \u00e1rea de la protecci\u00f3n vegetal, en especial en la inmunidad e inducci\u00f3n de resistencia en plantas de importancia comercial. Prontamente, esta inducci\u00f3n de resistencia se reenfocar\u00e1 en evaluar su participaci\u00f3n en el desarrollo de \u00f3rganos vegetales en un contexto de estr\u00e9s por falta de agua.
