Entre las propuestas m\u00e1s destacadas se encuentran:\r\n1.\tFortalecer la gobernanza local: Los actores locales se\u00f1alaron la necesidad de establecer un plan de gesti\u00f3n municipal que permita una mejor coordinaci\u00f3n entre las partes interesadas y que priorice acciones concretas para la conservaci\u00f3n y uso sostenible del humedal.\r\n2.\tImplementar programas educativos y de difusi\u00f3n: Se propuso incluir a la comunidad y a los colegios locales en actividades de educaci\u00f3n ambiental, sensibilizaci\u00f3n sobre la importancia del humedal y difusi\u00f3n de buenas pr\u00e1cticas de manejo sostenible.\r\n3.\tCapacitaci\u00f3n en monitoreo ambiental: Los participantes destacaron la necesidad de contar con herramientas y conocimientos t\u00e9cnicos para monitorear y gestionar el humedal de manera aut\u00f3noma y sostenible.\r\n4.\tZonificaci\u00f3n y regulaci\u00f3n de actividades: Identificaron la importancia de delimitar \u00e1reas para uso tur\u00edstico, conservaci\u00f3n estricta y actividades productivas de bajo impacto, para minimizar los efectos de las actividades humanas sobre el ecosistema.\r\nLa Universidad de O\u0092Higgins se compromete a incorporar estas propuestas como ejes centrales en el proyecto, apoyando al municipio en el desarrollo de su plan de gesti\u00f3n mediante las siguientes acciones concretas:\r\n\u0095\tGenerar informaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica confiable a trav\u00e9s del Laboratorio de Ecosistemas de Humedales, la cual servir\u00e1 como base t\u00e9cnica para el diagn\u00f3stico sectorial y la planificaci\u00f3n.\r\n\u0095\tFacilitar talleres participativos para definir los objetos de conservaci\u00f3n y metas del plan, as\u00ed como estrategias espec\u00edficas para su implementaci\u00f3n.\r\n\u0095\tTransferir herramientas de monitoreo ambiental y capacitar a actores locales, asegurando que puedan realizar un seguimiento continuo de los indicadores del plan.\r\n\u0095\tDise\u00f1ar materiales educativos y desarrollar campa\u00f1as de difusi\u00f3n que fortalezcan la conexi\u00f3n entre la comunidad y el humedal.\r\n\"Como resultado del proceso de diagn\u00f3stico territorial participativo, los beneficiarios identificaron diversas iniciativas clave para fortalecer la gesti\u00f3n del humedal Bucalemu y promover su desarrollo sostenible. Entre las propuestas m\u00e1s destacadas se incluyen:\r\n1.\tCharlas informativas: Estas actividades sensibilizar\u00e1n a la comunidad sobre la importancia del humedal, destacando su biodiversidad y los beneficios de su conservaci\u00f3n. Las charlas incluir\u00e1n informaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica y relevante para fomentar un manejo m\u00e1s sostenible del ecosistema.\r\n2.\tProgramas educativos con colegios locales: Se implementar\u00e1n talleres pr\u00e1cticos y actividades educativas para involucrar a estudiantes en la conservaci\u00f3n del humedal, inspirando un sentido de pertenencia y responsabilidad hacia el ecosistema.\r\n3.\tCapacitaciones especializadas: Funcionarios municipales y algunos actores clases recibir\u00e1n formaci\u00f3n en gesti\u00f3n sostenible, incluyendo monitoreo ambiental y pr\u00e1cticas de bajo impacto, para fortalecer sus capacidades en el manejo del humedal.\r\n4.\tActividades de difusi\u00f3n y sensibilizaci\u00f3n: Campa\u00f1as de comunicaci\u00f3n y material informativo promover\u00e1n el turismo responsable y orientar\u00e1n a los visitantes hacia pr\u00e1cticas respetuosas con el ecosistema.\r\n5.\tFortalecimiento de los peque\u00f1os productores locales: Se desarrollar\u00e1n actividades espec\u00edficas para capacitar a productores en pr\u00e1cticas sostenibles y promocionar sus productos como parte de una estrategia de turismo responsable, fortaleciendo su conexi\u00f3n con el humedal.\r\n\r\nEl Laboratorio de Ecosistemas de Humedales de la Universidad de O\u0092Higgins aportar\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y herramientas t\u00e9cnicas esenciales para sustentar estas iniciativas, especialmente en lo relacionado con el diagn\u00f3stico del ecosistema, el dise\u00f1o de protocolos de monitoreo y la generaci\u00f3n de indicadores clave para evaluar el impacto de las acciones implementadas. Increasing evidence of health benefits of the avocado is both driving increased consumption and stimulating research. Over the next few decades, a number of climate-related factors are expected to undergo significant change, leading to increases in CO2 and, depending on the region, temperature, humidity, salinity, flooding, and drought. Chile is expected to experience more frequent and severe flooding in the future due to climate change and sea level rise. By 2050, flooding in Chile could increase by an order of magnitude compared to the previous decade, while by the end of the century, Chile could experience more than 100 days of flooding each year. The frequency and severity of flooding will increase as sea levels rise. Under such predicted conditions, avocado orchards will suffer significant harm from waterlogging, which significantly will affect the growth, physiological performance and a general avocado production.\r\nThe majority of avocado orchards are currently vulnerable to sporadic waterlogging as a result of climate change, either because of poor soil qualities or occasionally rising water tables. Waterlogging detrimentally affects avocado orchards at various levels. Reduced root and shoot growth due to soil oxygen depletion (plant-soil system), decreased transpiration rate, changes in the soil's oxidation-reduction status, decreased redox potential and ultimately decreased avocado production are the main effects of waterlogging on avocado. Climate change is increasing the frequency and severity of extreme weather events with flooding being the largest concern for Chile.  Investigating how climate change factors combine with waterlogging stress, novel genes, and signaling components can provide useful insights into plant responses to waterlogging stress and future agricultural difficulties\r\n \r\nThe species and occasionally the cultivar determine how long a plant may survive in a waterlogged condition. The rootstock (clonal or seedling rootstocks) used in the orchard may have an impact on the sensitivity to waterlogging. In this Project, it was hypothesized that: (1) Hass avocado grafted to different rootstocks (clonal or from seedling) may have a differential performance under waterlogging conditions and that the tolerance is driven by rootstock cultivar, stress severity, balance of oxidative stress and defense system at morpho-physiological, biochemical and molecular level and (2): Clonal o seedling rootstock  influence Hass avocado responses to waterlogging by affecting root microbial community, carbon, nitrogen cycling and reduced soil components. Thus, the main objective of this proposal is to evaluate the effects of waterlogging on grafted Hass avocado to 04 different rootstocks (Dusa, Duke 7, Mexicola and Zutano) mainly used in the Central and South-Central region of Chile. \r\n \r\nA systematic fingerprinting analysis will be used in this project by integrating different tools for deep analysis (Chemo-Metabolomics, transcriptomics and metagenomics) and for monitoring changes in morpho-physiological and gas-exchange parameters, changes in plant-soil system by evaluating the composition and function of microbial communities within the pot soil in each treatment, the antioxidant defense system and reactive oxygen species, for better understanding the regulatory mechanisms of tolerance to waterlogging, identification of the potential genes regulating tolerance to waterlogging in Hass avocado and finally the selection of the rootstock with better agronomic performance. Four (4) different rootstocks will be used in this research (two hybrids from Mexican and Guatemalan races - Zutano and Dusa, two Mexican races - Mexicola and Duke 7) which will be grafted with the scion material collected from Hass avocado cultivar. Mexicola and Zutano Will be propagated by seeds; Duke 7 clonally propagated and clonal Dusa plantlets acquired in the national plant propagation nurseries due to protection of intellectual property. One year grafted Hass avocado on different rootstocks will be subjected to a waterlogging greenhouse experiment by submerging them in a plastic water tank with water level 5 cm above the soil Surface (140% field capacity) for 3, 6, 9, and 15 days against the control treatment (no waterlogging stress). Esta variabilidad puede responder a una combinaci\u00f3n de factores: composici\u00f3n local de\r\nespecies parasitarias, fallas de dosificaci\u00f3n\/administraci\u00f3n y\/o presencia de resistencia\r\nantihelm\u00edntica. La ausencia de herramientas diagn\u00f3sticas operativas y de criterios\r\nestandarizados de decisi\u00f3n a nivel predial favorece tratamientos repetidos sin evaluaci\u00f3n\r\nobjetiva de eficacia, elevando costos y aumentando la presi\u00f3n de selecci\u00f3n de resistencia, con\r\npotenciales externalidades ambientales asociadas a residuos en heces.\r\nLa propuesta desarrolla y transfiere un paquete tecnol\u00f3gico de bajo costo y alta aplicabilidad\r\npara el secano costero de Cardenal Caro, utilizando ovinos Hidango como poblaci\u00f3n objetivo. En los \u00faltimos 5 a\u00f1os su exportaci\u00f3n ha aumentado considerablemente ocupando el\r\nsegundo lugar en este mercado. Derivado del procesamiento de los frutos se genera un alto porcentaje de pulpa y c\u00e1scara; residuos no\r\naprovechables como subproducto para otras industrias como cuarta gama y\/o farmac\u00e9utica. El elevado contenido antioxidantes de la sand\u00eda\r\nrepresenta una oportunidad para su extracci\u00f3n y uso en otras industrias. La soluci\u00f3n innovadora permitir\u00e1 reutilizar grandes vol\u00famenes de la\r\npulpa y c\u00e1scara, mitigando su disposici\u00f3n inadecuada y mejorando pr\u00e1cticas agr\u00edcolas y biotecnol\u00f3gicas. El objetivo de la propuesta es\r\ndesarrollar un paquete tecnol\u00f3gico consistente en tres aplicaciones que permiten valorizar los residuos de c\u00e1scara y pulpa de sand\u00eda para la\r\nproducci\u00f3n de nutrac\u00e9uticos, bioenmienda de suelos provenientes de relaves mineros, y sustrato para el crecimiento de microorganismos. Esto se realizar\u00e1 a trav\u00e9s del an\u00e1lisis de datos hist\u00f3ricos y actuales de entidades de salud, complementado con muestreos intensivos de mam\u00edferos silvestres y monitoreo de animales dom\u00e9sticos en \u00e1reas identificadas como de alto riesgo. Se explorar\u00e1n adem\u00e1s los focos hist\u00f3ricos y zonas predichas como aptas para la presencia de triatominos, utilizando avanzadas t\u00e9cnicas de detecci\u00f3n molecular y an\u00e1lisis de modelaci\u00f3n.
